Against the backdrop of the “dual carbon” goals, improving energy efficiency has become a key concern across various industries. The CCHP system, short for Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power, is an advanced energy utilization solution that integrates electricity generation, heating, and cooling into a single system. By using a single fuel input to simultaneously produce electricity, thermal energy, and cooling capacity, the CCHP system significantly enhances overall energy efficiency.

The operating principle of a CCHP system is straightforward. Using natural gas as the primary fuel, power is generated through a gas engine or gas turbine, and the electricity produced can be used on-site. Meanwhile, the waste heat generated during the power generation process is not discharged into the environment, but is instead recovered through heat recovery equipment and converted into hot water or steam for space heating or domestic use. In summer, when cooling is required, this recovered heat can be used to drive an absorption chiller for cooling.

Among these technologies, the LiBr absorption chiller plays a critical role. Using water as the refrigerant and LiBr solution as the absorbent, it operates under a vacuum environment, where water evaporates and absorbs heat to achieve the cooling effect. Unlike traditional compression-type chillers, it does not rely on electricity, but instead uses thermal energy for cooling—making it particularly suitable for CCHP systems that utilize recovered heat as a driving source.

Compared with conventional energy systems, CCHP systems offer numerous advantages, including higher energy efficiency, stable operation, and reduced carbon emissions. They are especially well-suited for hospitals, hotels, commercial buildings, and industrial parks where heating and cooling demands are relatively balanced. As the concept of sustainable development gains traction, CCHP systems are expected to play an increasingly important role in various sectors, contributing to the realization of a low-carbon, green society.
