Canned Pump in LiBr Absorption Units
A canned pump is a special type of pump characterized by the integration of the motor and pump body within a sealed housing. It is called a "canned pump" because the motor and transmission components of the pump are completely enclosed within a metal casing, preventing direct contact between the external environment and the internal moving parts. The design of the canned pump eliminates the need for traditional mechanical seals, thereby enabling leak-free operation.
In Hope Deepblue LiBr absorption chillers, the canned pump is a critical component, primarily used to circulate LiBr solution between the absorber and the generator. This ensures the effective circulation of the LiBr solution, which is essential for the normal operation of the absorption chiller.
Due to the highly corrosive and viscous nature of LiBr solution, the leak-free design of the canned pump helps prevent solution leakage, thereby protecting both the equipment and the environment. This feature effectively reduces maintenance issues caused by seal failure in LiBr absorption chillers, resulting in higher reliability and longer service life.
