Automatic Bypass System for LiBr Absorption Chillers

The automatic bypass system for LiBr absorption chiller, designed by Hope Deepblue, is a device used to regulate the system's operating load and ensure the stable operation of the unit. When fluctuations in the system's internal load occur, the automatic bypass system can divert a portion of fluid through a bypass pipeline, bypassing to absorber or evaporator, and maintain chiller in its optimal operating state. This system generally works in conjunction with an automatic controller, which adjusts the bypass valve based on real-time load and operational parameters, preventing system instability or efficiency loss due to load variations.

 1. Load Regulation

The primary function of the automatic bypass system is to regulate the load of the unit. When the load is too high or too low, the bypass system can effectively divert part of the fluid, preventing excessive LiBr solution entering absorber or evaporator, thus avoiding overloading or efficiency reducing. By adjusting the opening of the bypass valve, the system can flexibly alter the flow direction of the fluid to respond to load changes and ensure the stable operation of the unit.

2. Improving System Efficiency
In addition to regulating the load, the auto bypass system also enhances the operating efficiency of the unit. By properly diverting and adjusting the solution flow, the automatic bypass system helps the unit avoid unnecessary energy waste or excessive cooling. At lower loads, the system reduces the solution flow to minimize unnecessary cooling; at higher loads, the bypass system helps share part of the load to prevent the unit from operating under excessive load, thereby improving overall performance.

3. Preventing Unit Failure
The bypass valve is also crucial during the startup and shutdown processes of the unit. During the startup phase, it provides a quick circulation path, helping the system stabilize rapidly. In the shutdown phase, the bypass valve maintains the minimum flow circulation, preventing refrigerant water from freezing, which could lead to crystallization or corrosion, ensuring the safety and long-term reliability of the equipment after shutdown.

4. Extending Equipment Service Life
By maintaining the load within a reasonable range, the automatic bypass system reduces wear and tear on the equipment caused by load fluctuations and abnormal flow. By dynamically adjusting the system's load, the bypass system effectively prevents issues such as excessive cooling, overheating, or excessive system pressure, thus extending the service life of the equipment. Long-term stable operation helps reduce maintenance costs and improve the reliability of the unit.
The regulation function of the automatic bypass system enables the LiBr absorption chiller to maintain stable and efficient operation despite load fluctuations. Through automated control, the system not only enhances the unit's work efficiency, but also reduces manual intervention and operational costs.
